About Me

Hi, I'm Gabby! Welcome to my website! This website is dedicated to my hobbies, projects, personal and professional growth! This website is to serve as a personal portfolio to showcase my interests, hobbies, and skills. It is dedicated to showcasing my projects to demonstrate personal and professional growth. My target audience is for people who would be interested in me: whether that be future employers, friends, or people who are curious about my current projects.

I am based in Durham and have experience in image processing, signal processing, graphic design, and frontend web development.

I decided to use this site development platform as a way to learn and improve my web development knowledge. Using plain HTML, CSS, and JS allows for me to have more control, but a major con is the steep learning curve for certain features as well as this method is quite time-consuming. In the future I’d love to improve my website by using React.js to make it more component-based, standard practice, and more responsive.

iCal

2021

iCal is a web app which deciphers images into google calendar events. Using Google's Cloud Vision API and OCR technology, iCal takes images of events (think poster or webpage screenshot) to create an event in your Google Calendar with the correct title, date, and description. In the future I hope to build this into a Chrome extension for accessibility and quality of life usage.
